Vivian lies in state in the rotunda of the Georgia State Capitol in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, 22 July 2020. Vivian, a close friend and lieutenant of Martin Luther King Jr, died 17 July 2020 at age 95. Vivian helped to organize lunch counter sit-ins, boycotts, marches, including the Freedom Rides, throughout the South in the 1960s. He died on the same day as late US Representative John Lewis.
