The free music event formed part of the Cape Town CBD revitalisation programme. The city has developed five work streams to rejuvenate the CBD economy and is in the process of implementing with this concert part of the strategy. According to Cape Town Executive Mayor Dan Plato 'it is vital to jump start the events industry as it supports thousands of jobs and we will continue to offer support through these events and other initiatives'.
