Pederson arrived to brief Syrian officials on the outcome of his recent participation in the Sochi meetings in the 'Astana formula' and the political and military discussions he had held in the Russian capital, Moscow. Pederson is expected to meet with Foreign Minister Al-Mekdad to discuss the future of the talks of the Constitutional Discussion Committee in Geneva, and the possibility of setting a sixth round of talks in March.
