epa09667549 People attend the funeral of six-year-old Mohamed from Ivory Coast, during his funeral at a cemetery in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria island, Spain, 04 January 2022 (issued on 05 January 2022). Mohamed was rescued from a boat by a helicopter of the Spanish Sea Rescue Unit in the Atlantic Sea some 200 kilometres off the Spanish coast on 24 October but he did not survive. The boy was buried after spending more than two months at morgue to become in the victim number 3,267, out of the 4,016 migrants who died or disappeared in Canary migrant route during 2021, according to figures released by NGO Caminando Fronteras.
