epa09007289 Hugo Ramos shows some miniature figures of 'el chuta' and 'la chola pacena', characters that evoke the festival and carnival traditions, on display at the Mayor's Office, in La Paz, Bolivia, 12 February 2021. The Bolivian carnival, traditionally full of parties and massive parades, had to adapt its proceedings in the midst of the second wave of COVID-19 infections that hit the country, with virtual events and other smaller ones equally full of color although without reaching crowd people. The main cities of Bolivia have resolved to suspend all mass festivities, including the emblematic Oruro Carnival, the biggest festival of Bolivian folklore, declared in 2001 Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
