epaselect epa08668430 Young Asian forest tortoise (Manouria emys), also known commonly as the Asian brown tortoise, in the zoo in Wroclaw, south-west Poland, 14 September 2020. Thirteen Asian forest tortoises, a critically endangered species, have hatched in the Wroclaw zoo. Asian forest tortoise is a species inhabiting South and South-West Asia. They grow up to 80 cm and 20 kg in weight, live up to 150 years, are the only species of turtle that builds a mound and looks after eggs and offspring. EPA/Maciej Kulczynski POLAND OUT
