Descriere: epa07380993 Romania's Justice Minister Tudorel Toader speaks during a press conference at the Governmnet Headquarters in Bucharest, Romania, 19 February 2019. Toader spoke after the government gave an urgent ordnance regarding the procedures to be followed for the EU deputee-prosecutor candidates. Romania's Justice Minister Tudorel Toader, who removed Anti-Corruption Bureau chief prosecutor Codruta Kovesi from her position last year, accused her of signing 'secret' deals with the national intelligence agency in a anti-democratic manner, informing the European Commision about it. Kovesi, who was proposed for the post of European Chief Prosecutor, denied the official misconduct and bribery allegations. After Romanian administration decided to block Kovesi application for the EU Prosecutor position, the European Commission reacted by stating that prosecutors running for the position of European Chief Prosecutor shall be treated fairly.
