New clashes took place this Tuesday in the south and north of Peru, when anti-riot agents tried to unblock the Pan-American highway that has been occupied by thousands of peasants protesting the lack of approval of a new agrarian law by Congress. The most serious crashes were reported in the southern region of Ica, where the Police deployed hundreds of agents to try to remove pickets of protesters who impede the passage of vehicles, which so far left four police officers injured.
