Descriere: epaselect epa09120905 Visitors look at the artwork 'Napoleon coming out of his Tomb' by French painter Horace Vernet on display during a press visit of the exhibition 'Napoleon N'Est Plus' (Napoleon is no more) hosted at the Musee de l'Armee (military museum) at the Hotel des Invalides in Paris, France, 07 April 2021. The exhibition is dedicated to the death and the legacy of Napoleon. Kept at Invalides, Napoleon Bonaparte's body lies under a dome within six separate coffins. France is preparing for the celebrations of the bicentennial of the death of French military and political leader Napoleon Bonaparte (1769-1821) who died in exile on the island of Sainte Helena on 05 May 1821. The official commemorations of the bicentenary of his death are causing controversy in France among those considering that he represents a dark part of the country's history and those who support its legacy.
